Why is it important to read to children in Ukrainian?

Ridna Shkola San Diego invites you to the Autumn Festival, Open House, and Sorochynsky Fair! Join us in celebrating Ukrainian traditions in the warm atmosphere of our community.

Ukrainian books help develop speech, imagination, and a love for the native language. Here are some simple ideas for family reading.

Reading in Ukrainian is one of the easiest ways to support the development of a child's native language.

Fairy tales, short stories, and poems introduce children to new words, help them better understand sentences, and develop their imagination.

You don't have to start with big books. Short stories with bright illustrations are suitable for younger children, while adventure stories and contemporary Ukrainian literature are great for older ones.

Try making reading a small family tradition: choose a book together, discuss the characters, and ask questions about what you've read.

Do you love working with children and sharing knowledge?
